Former Team Japan Olympic Coach
Shinichi "Shin" Watanabe 渡辺伸一

  • Began snowboarding in 1987; won the All-Japan Championship Halfpipe title at age 13 and turned professional
  • Competed professionally at domestic and international events from the following year
  • Represented Japan in Snowboard Halfpipe at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics
  • Coached at snowboard summer camps in the United States for over 10 years
  • Founded a youth snowboard team that developed multiple pro riders and Olympic representatives
  • Champion, Men's Freestyle, 9th All-Japan Technical Championships
  • JSBA Demonstration Coach, 5th Term (2002–2004)
  • Official commentator for Snowboard Freestyle at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics

Certifications: JSBA Grade A Coach ・ Grade C Instructor ・ FWT Official Judge

Languages: Japanese ・ English (Chinese requires an accompanying translator coach)
